MY FIRST 24 HOUR COMICS MARATHON

IT'S ALMOST OVER!
In fifteen more minutes I will have completed my first 24 Hour Comics marathon. This activity, wherein one draws and makes comics for a solid 24 hours originated with Scott McCloud and Steve Bisette over twenty years ago. If you follow the pure form of the 24 Hour Comic you don't prep anything for the event and you produce one page/hour no matter what!

R. Sikoryak (coincidentally happens to be my husband) and I are just wrapping up our 24 hours. Bob took aim for the 24 page output, but I am not a purist. I wanted to see what it would be like to draw for 24 hours straight. Wow! I can't believe I made it and that the time went so quickly!

What did I do? I made another minicomic inspired by the plethora of cute kitten comics and drawings littering this spring's MoCCA Fest. Pictorial Anatomy Of The Cat by Stephen Gilbert is one of my favorite books. Using it as inspiration, I made Pictorial Anatomy Of The CUTE!

It's barely 12 pages, instead of the requisite 24 - but heck! I got it done! Now to bed! my 24 hours is just up!

  1. A day later, you have a twelve page comic - can't ask for more than that!
